What do the kidneys do.
A
The kidneys take waste product. Filtration is carried out and useful products are re absorbed into the blood (glucose, some ions and the right amount of water) while waste is released in your urine.

Why is protein not in urine
A
Excess amino acids can’t be stored in the body so are converted into fats and carbohydrates, which can be stored in the liver. This is called deamination

What is the process called where the kidney only let’s certain waste products through?
A
Selective reabsorption.

What is dialysis?
A
Dialysis filters your blood through a machine filtering out all waste products.
