Epidermis:
- Most superficial layer of the skin.
- Stratum corneum (upper layer) & germinative layer (deeper).
- Germinative layer bathed in fluid– provision of oxygen and nutrients.
- No blood vessels or nerve endings in epidermis.
- Keratinised stratified squamous epithelium – thin flat and non-nucleated.
