When was the Industrial revolution started and when did it end?
1750-1900
What energy was used?
Instead of using animals ormpeople, industries began to use wind wnd water and sources of energy. People usedmcoal for fuel instead of wood. Coal gave more heat and allowed better wuality iron and steelmto be made.
What was used for heating and loghting?
Oil and natural gas was used for heating and lighting.
Name technologies that were invented that revolutionized the industrial revolution
The spinning jenny and power loom allowed the textile industries to grow. Steam engine could provide more energy for large factories. Railways meant tyat travel was quockee and raw materials and goods could be transported easier.
How did work change?
Before the I.R people made things in their own homes or in small workshops. The new factory system meant people had to go to a place of work where they would work for a shift.
How was transport imrpoved
Horse drawn transport was not fast enough and couldnt cope with the amount of weight needed to be mvoved. Canals eere introduced which could csrry large volumes of goods.
How was engineering improved?
Engineering improved theough a mix of new materials. Stronger stone buildings like lighthouses. Giant concrete bridges. Iron and steel structures.
