That cholera was spread through the mixture of human waste and water that was consumed, instead of bad smells in the air. And that the broad street pump was why so many people were dying since a vast number of people consumed the cholea-contaminated water. This meant that John snow removed the Broad street pump.

The great stink which happened in the summer of 1858, was created by the stench of human waste in the Thames. The smell was so bad that it reached parliament so parliament had to interfere.
