Paragraph One: Event
In 1968, the Brezhnev Doctrine had been announced. This was when in a Soviet newspaper named Pravda had released Brezhnev’s justification for the Czechoslovakia invasion in November 26th. In his statement, the Soviet leader had said that if an individual communist country threatens the security of another, then it is the duty of all Warsaw members to stop them. This had a massive impact on Eastern Europe especially Czechoslovakia as it shows that the Soviets, as well as the Warsaw Pact, are ready to invade if another incident occurs like it had before with the Czech people.
Paragraph Two: Main Consequence
A main consequence is that it had caused an increase in Soviet Control and dominance. This is because the Brezhnev Doctrine ensured that people in Czechoslovakia
