In her love for her sister, Katniss Everdeen decides to risk life and death to be in the Hunger Games, where she struggles to survive while dealing with love, in which she is torn.
Protagonist cannot accept:
That the Hunger Games are only a means of intimidation for the government of Panem to intimidate the 12 districts of Panem.
Resolution
Katniss and Peeta win the Hunger Games, by attempting a joint suicide together, which angers the Capitol of Panem.
Theme statement
When a girl, in her love for her sister, decides to risk her life for her sister, she becomes conflicted in her love for others during which she fights for survival.

Wealth/social classes
- Katniss witnesses the wealth and glamour of the Capitol, since in District 12, the population is mainly poor and destitute.
- Katniss, since she is from District 12, is regarded by other tributes from Districts 1 and 2 as “lower” in the social hierarchy.
- The poorness exhibited in District 12 is visible when Katniss struggled to get food for her family after her father died.
