A law introduced in 1935, it took away Jews German citizenship and forbade marriage between Jews and non Jews.

Nearly 10,000 Jewish shop keepers had their shop windows smashed and been robbed. Jewish homes and synagogues were in flames. Thousands were arrested and dozens were killed.

In cattle trucks/wagons, they were cramped unhuman and unhygienic.

Possessions taken away. Given striped pyjamas (as uniform) . Hair shaved. Split into men and women. Split into fit and unfit. Given a number instead of a name.
What food was there at camp
Very limited and little. E.g. a bit of whale meat, some sort of vegetable soup.
How could the guards and doctors treat them
SS guards could kill prisoners at any moment.
Doctors did experiments on prisoners with no anaesthetic

They didn’t want people to think they were Jewish too through fear.
Why might Germans have been hesitant to stop Nazis
Lack of Nazi education. Nazi propaganda messages on the radio. Fear of the gestapo. Ignorance of the camps existence.

Germans would see what happened to Jews and knew if they tried to help them the same or worse would happen to them.
