What may cause changes to a workplace?
Demographic changes, such as technological expansion - therefore employers will need more employees skilled in this area
What are routine jobs and non routine jobs?
Routine jobs are more repetitive, focused on production line work such as manufacturing and data processing. Non routine jobs consist of human interaction such as teaching and healthcare
What are manual and cognitive jobs?
Manual jobs are a physical labour task, such as mining or plumbing.
Non manual jobs usually require post school qualifications, relying on logical thinking such as lawyers
What type of jobs are easily automated?
Routine jobs because their based off repetitive machine work, which places like factories can easily replace
Why has there been a stronger growth in non routine jobs?
Becuase non routine jobs require experienced intelligence, something robots (such as AI) cannot duplicate very well.
How did the role of mothers and fathers differ in the workforce compared to know
- most women only worked until they reached child bearing age
- nowadays most women still work whilst having children, either on maternity and leave and will come straight back, or part time/casual.
