What parts of the body are defined by the term vestibular and what do they control?
The inner ear and brain are described as vestibular and these control balance and eye movement.
What type of movement causes motion sickness?
How would this be presented in a patient?
Any type of movement can cause motionsickness and is presented in a patient by nausea, ab discomfort, vomit, fatigue and weakness.
Why does motion sickness occur?
It occurs as a result of the brains inability to process information about movement and position.
What treatment is offered to a patient with motionsickness?
1st generation antihistamines (promethazine) and anticholinergics.

In which part of the ear do bacterial ear infections commonly occur?
Bacterial ear infections usually occur in the middle part of the ear also know as the otitis media.
What happens to the ear during bacterial infection?
During infection the eustachian tubes within the ear become clogged with fluid/mucus.
What are common signs and symptoms of ear infection?
Ear pain
Difficulty hearing
Fluid drainage from ear.
What is the 1st line treatment for bacterial ear infections?
The 1st line treatment would be antibiotics in the form of ear drops or oral medication. (Gentamicin/amoxicillin)
