WIV was pressured to agree to Grey’s demands, and even agreed to use his prerogative powers to create new peers- choosing not to exercise the right to defy their ministers

-It reduced the number of ‘placemen’ in the commons
via the dissolution of 56 rotten/pocket boroughs
-the act brought about the development of a clear 2 party system, thus providing electors with a clear choice of PM, making it harder for the monarch to defy parliaments wishes
