A

Therapist will challenge negative thoughts and help the client to change them by discussing the evidence for and against their negative thoughts in the sessions. The client is then set further homework to encourage to test out irrational beliefs which have been challenged in the sessions.

A

Clients record any emotional - arousing events and the negative thoughts and behaviours attached to that event.
Rate their depression or anxiety
Then note a realistic thoughts that challenge these negative thoughts and a new constructive behaviour.
They re-rate their anxiety level based on the new outcome
Outcome - clients are trying out new ways of thinking
