Q

What happened 4.6 billion years ago.

A

Volcanic activity releases CO2, methane, ammonia and water vapour into the atmosphere. Then when the earth cooled the water vapour turned into water to form oceans.

Q

What happened 2.7 billion years ago?

A

Green plants (algae) came from primordial soup in the ocean and are single celled. They did photosynthesis to create oxygen

Q

What happens 1 billion years ago?

A

Some oxygen turned into O3 which created the ozone layer. This blocks out harmful ultra violet rays which allows for life on land to begin.
