Carl Linnaeus is from Sweden.
On what basis are organisms grouped into Phyla?
They are grouped into phyla based in a few features that are shared by some organisms.
How do organisms get their scientific name?
They get their name from the genus and the species.
What is the science of classification called.
Taxonomy.
How do you write the scientific names of organisms?
You write the genus in higher case and the species in lower case. When typed on a computer it must be in italics and when written it must be underlined.
Name the five Kingdoms.
Prokaryotes, protoctist, fungi, plants and animals.
What is the binomial system of naming species?
It is when two Latin names are given for each species.
What is the scientific name for humans.
Homo sapiens (in italics).
