what is ‘Cadenza’?
special unaccompanied part where the soloist shows off
What occurs during the Cadenza?
fast scales, arpeggios, and ends with a long trill, usually improvised.
where does the Cadenza happen in terms of movements?
at the end of the first movement
who follows who? ie conductor
conductor follows the soloist, the orchestra follows the conductor, the accompaniment follows the soloist
