What wiere the things the king did which annoyed Parliament

A

Charles married a Catholic and the country was protestant. Charles sent to parliament home unruled without them for 11 years. Charles collected money himself. Charles forced the Scottish to use the English prayerbook but he was beaten by them and they forced him to pay a large sum of money . You failed to meet some of Parliament’s demands such as reversing the changes to the church. He didn’t stop all the taxes he created without parliaments consent such a shit money. He didn’t bring new ministers from Parliament to advise him. He agreed to regular meetings, but only every three years. Charles didn’t agree to the grand remonstrance and enters Parliament and arrested politicians who were the ringleaders of the uprising . MPs thought Charles couldn’t be trusted with the army as they thought he was going to use them against him. Charles disagreed with the 19 propositions and refused parliaments latest demands as they were too extreme Charles left London with all of his supporters. He gathered in all me together and declared war while he was in Nottingham on 22 August creating the civil war

What did parliament do which annoyed Charles

A

They refuse to give him money, and they were hesitant to take Charles. Created a list of demands asking tiles to reverse the changes he made. Demanded Charles to punish his ministers. All the ministers united against Charles. Created the grand remonstrance and reduced Charles power when Charles went to arrest the five MPs they were not there and were being protected by the Council of London and being treated like heroes. Parliament took control of the army without Charles permissionParliament passed the 19 propositions, which was very extreme saying the king could do nothing without them. They even demanded to take control of the kings children’s education. They turn Charles into A mere Phantom of the 10th. Wanted to change the church and prosecute Catheolic .

How did the civil war come about

A

On 22 August 1642 Charles declared war on his enemies in Parliament. During the war, one in 10 men were killed.
