What were the consequences of the glorious revolution
William of Orange was allowed to rule England, the king was going to be given an annual sum of money. The crown could only be inherited by Protestant. The King couldn’t have an army during peacetime. The monarchy was not allowed to interfere with the Trials . People were allowed freedom of last ship, the people were going to Elect Parliament every three years, parliament gained more power and were able to make all laws and were allowed freedom of speech. There was a balance of power between the King and Parliament
What caused the glorious revolution
King James wanted England to be Catholic and he replaced all the ministers who didn’t like him with Catholics. He also appointed Catholics as army officers which shows he wanted To have lots of power. Also James is wife had had a lot of miscarriages and in June 1688 she claimed to have given birth to a son story spread that the baby had actually been smuggled into the palace in a warming pan. James now had a son and could make sure it will be followed by a Catholic king. There was a real chance Catholicism could be brought back. Also In April 1687 James allowed everyone to worship as they wished without parliaments permission
