Explain the Jim Crow laws

A

they are discriminatory laws that were passed after the reconstruction:
- restrictions on the voting right of ex-slaves
- segregation in schools, public transportation, hospitals, housing etc.
These laws were considered constitutional, creating the doctrine of “separate but equal” > allowing Jim Crow laws for a century
