Red blood cells

A

Most plentiful of body’s cells and make up almost half the bloods volume. They contain hemoglobin, which allows them to transport oxygen throughout the body. Hemoglobin makes cells appear red.

White blood cells

A

Infection fighting. They recognize and destroy invading bacteria and viruses. Make up less than 1% of blood volume. Only blood cells that have a nucleus.

A

Tiny cells that help in blood clotting. Less than 1% of blood.

A

Protein rich liquid that carries blood cells among. Makes up over half the blood volume.
