All living things are made up of cells and vital force. It is the structural and functional unit.
Cyto = cell (hollow vessel)
-ology = a field of study

All cells come from pre existing cells by cell division - production of new cells
2 types of division 1. Clone a cell 2. Produce sex cells.
Cells contain hereditary info in the form of DNA which is passed on from cell to cell during cell division. Sex cells have half the DNA. All cells have exact same genetic detail and therefore can clone.
Gene is a subsection of DNA. A 6 foot long sequence.
All energy flow of life (metabolism and life force) occurs within cells.
Cells are always interconnecting if we disrupt the energy flow between cells it can lead to problems with homeostasis (disease)
