The Carbon Cycle is important as plants use carbon dioxide and the energy from sunlight to photosynthesis.

The carbon then passes into animals which eat the plants.

Without carbon, plants would be unable to undergo photosynthesis and there would be producers to begin food chains with ecosystems.
