The focus of BM is not just what businesses do but also how they do it. So, in literature stream it is not a value proposition, a revenue model or a network, it is all of them together.
⚠ There is no one definition for BM and scholars don not agree on what it is.

But they agree on certain things (implicit and explicit):
the BM is new unit of analysis
BMs emphasize a system level, holistic approach to explaining business firm activities play an important role in conceptualizations of BMs BMs seek to explain how value is created, not just how it is captured.
Business models seek to explain both value creation and value capture
