Who signed the Treaty of Allahbad and what did it state?
It was signed by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Alam II. It stated that the company could collect revenue from Odisha, Bengal and Bihar.
How did the decline of food crops effect India?
As there was a decline in the growth of food crops the farmers were affected as well as the general population. There were famines, shortage of food, starvation and prolonged hunger.
When did the Bengal Famine occured?
1770.
What was done with the revenue collections?
The company neglected the welfare of the masses and contributed the payments for military, administrative purposes and financial salaries of the officials and the activists of the Company as well as. supplying raw materials for the company. The British were not bothered in helping with the famines. Home charges were pressed on the Company.
