and healthy eating practices and basic exercise guidelines

What is important to keep in mind about Scope of Practice and Continuing Education?
A
- your role as a health professional within the topics of exercise and nutrition education;
scope of practice; referral, educate, provide resources, continuing education - You are educators and role models; provide information and educate to your depth of
knowledge and then refer to RDs, PhDs as needed; use your credible resources (ones
discussed in class etc. be able to give examples; continue your learning and keep up with
research in the area (eg. take more courses, read nutrition research journals etc.) - Always share information from the scientific basis of nutrition; trying to keep your
personal preferences out of it unless providing an example - Keep your mind open as to how you can apply your knowledge of nutrition and exercise
to improve the care of your patients - continuing education; courses, more degrees, research conferences, peer reviewed
journals etc. (eg. continue to “fill your bucket”)
