A
He tried to blockade Berlin to try and force the West out. June 1948 he ordered everything be cut off.

How did the West respond to the blockade?
A
They began airlifting in supplies for 318 days until the blockade was lifted. By 1949 8000 tons of supplies were being flown in each day.
