What was the Nazis aim?
Too enlarge Germany within Europe. They looked East to expand into the rest of Europe.
What did the Nazis say they needed?
Lebensraum - which means finding additional living space.
What did Hitler need to achieve his aim?
He needed strong armed forces. In 1933 the Nazi leaders decided that Germany would re-arm secretly.
What happened in 1939 and 1938?
The Nazi army annexed with Czechoslovakia and Austria.
Why did Britain and France do nothing?
Because Hitler assured them he would go no further in expanding German borders.
What did Britain and France promise Poland?
They promised they would help Poland if Germany invaded them.
When did WW2 start and why did it start?
On September 1 1939 as Hitler’s armies invaded Poland. Britain and France declared war on Germany.

The Germans side
