Who is Sir Douglas Haig and what was he trying to do in this battle?
Sir Douglas Haig was a British Admiral Admiral and the aim of this attack was to break through Flanders on the coast of Belgium so that Germany submarine pens could be destroyed.
Was haigh’s plan approved by the British government?
No, the Prime Minister David Lloyd George did not agree with this but there was no other plans.
Why did Haig think that his plan would be easy to complete?
He thought that the morale of the German army was going to be low so it would be easy to get through Flanders after Germany’s recent defeat.
