virtually un-epigraphic force
new higher walls etc

climactic differences
east - more open with alliances/client kings and standing armies
change in tactic, not expansion but securing of borders
borders and towers etc never seen before in history
benefits of landscape eg danube
vallum- ditch which seperates hadrians wall / militarised zone from rest of england
no provincial uniformity - try different things to see what works in specific conditions
