Louis XIV is one of the most famous absolute rulers. He became ruler at the age of 5 and gained absolute power at the age of 23. He created the Versailles.

What was Versailles?

A

It was a grand and lavished castle built by Louis XIV which he built to keep his enemies in. Versailles was not cheap to build yet the French people didn’t mind him gaining more power and increasing debt as her brought them pride. He was able to fund for the castle with the help of the columbian exchange.
