Resurrection: Orthodox

A
  • Most Orthodox Jews believe in some form of resurrection, and it is stated in daily prayers and funerals
  • Some believe in a resurrection that includes the body as well as the soul, and so the body must be buried whole - no cremation
  • This can be overridden for Pikuach Nefesh
These beliefs were supported by Maimonides
