What was the pact? (2)

A
  • The Liberals agreed that in the next election they would not oppose Labour candidates in the general election where a Labour candidate was more likely to defeat the Conservatives
  • In return, the LRC promised to restrict their candidates in other constituencies and so prevent a split in the anti-Conservative vote
