In the diagram, AB, BC & CD are three sides of a regular polygon P. Show that polygon P is a hexagon. You must show your working.
1) hexagon = 6 sides
2) find interior angles of the regular 12-sided polygon = (10 x 180) / 12 = 150
3) all angles in a square are 90
4) remaining angle in the 360 degree circle = 360 - 90 - 150 = 120
5) work out interior angles of hexagon; so 120
6) proved
Use your graph to find estimates of the solutions of the equation x^2 - x - 6 = - 2

2) find the x values at which they intersect with the graph
A, B, & D are points on the circumference of a circle centre O. EDC is a tangent to the circle. Angle BDC = 57. Find the size of angle AOB. You must give a reason for each stage of your working
1) angle ODB = 90 - 57 = 33 as a tangent meets a radius at 90
2) angle OBD = 33 as both BO & OD are a radius; therefore base angles in an isosceles are equal
3) angle BOD = 180 - 66 = 114 as angles in a triangle sum to 180
4) angle AOB = 180 - 114 = 66 as angles on a straight line sum to 180

4) remember to leave the numbers as decimals
y = f(-x) as it is a reflection in the y axis, we know this because the y coordinate doesn’t change
