Tx RPh licensing requirements? Exam & Reciprocity

A

By Exam

  • Must be @ least 18 yo
  • Must have completed 1500 interns hours ; no more than 50 hrs/week.
  • Graduated and received professional practice degree
  • Must pass NAPLEX and MPJE (5 attempts)

Cannot use intern hours after >2 years of completion.

30 day license provided once MPJE & NAPLEX are passed – must submit for initial license within 30 days.

Reciprocity

  • Must provide proof of initial licensure
  • Must pass Tx MPJE
  • May reciprocate from state where license was achieved through examination.

Tx RPh Expiration and License renewal?

A

Biennially license - expires last day of birth month

“Timely Receipt” - application at the board before last day of the expiration month with fee.

License Expired <90 day – may renew through paying fee equal to 1.5x renewal fee and reporting required CE’s.

License Expired >90 day – may renew through paying fee equal to 2x renewal fee and reporting required CE’s.

Expired >1 yr - may not renew, must reapply

Intern Trainee - 1st of Pharmacy School - may only work when School assigns to a site.

Student Intern - Completed 1st year AND minimum 30 CE credits toward pharmacy degree.

Extended Intern - Remains in effect for 2 years.

Resident Intern - Graduated from ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy and is completing a resident program.
