Tetrology of Fallot Flashcards
What are there 4 components of TOF?
1) Large VSd
2) RV outflow obstruction
3) Overriding Aorta
4) Right Ventricular Hypertrophy
What is used to diagnose TOF with pulmonic stenosis?
TTE
How is anatomy of MAPCA’s (Major Aortopulmonary collateral arteries) delineated in TOF with pulmonary atresia?
Cardiac Cath/MRI/MRA
What is a Waterson Shunt?
Side to side anastomosis between ascending aorta and right PA
What is a Potts shunt?
Side to side anastomosis between the descending aorta and left PA
What is a central shunt?
Synthetic tube graft between ascending aorta and the main branch PA
What is a Blalock-Taussig Shunt?
End to end anastomosis of the right or left subclavian artery to the ipsilateral PA
What is a modified Blalock-Taussig Shunt?
Goretex tube between innominate artery or subclavian artery and the branch PA
What % of children with congenital heart defects have other congenital anomalies?
8%
What is the dose of oral ketamine?
7-10 mg/kg
What factors prolong ACT (activated clotting time)?
Hypothermia, hemodilution, platelet dysfunction, low coat factors
What is the heparin dose for CPB?
400 units/kg
What is post-junctional ectopic tachycardia?
Transient tachyarrhythmia that occurs immediately following congenital heart surgery. Due to AV node or bundle dysfunction
What is treatment of post-junctional ectopic tachycardia??
Atrial pacing
