Tests Flashcards

1
Q

Sign

A

test for difference, repeated measures, nominal
- if any participant had same score we leave them
- score 1 - score 2 = +/-
- count total + or -
- find which is the lowest = observed value
- compare OV to CV
- if participant removed (earlier on) take them off n value
- if OV can be =< CV

Q

Wilcoxon

A

test for difference, repeated measures, ordinal
- score 1 - score 2
- rank numbers from lowest to nighest ignoring the sign
- count how many + and - signs there are
- add the ranks up of the least frequent sign
- calculate the n value (number of difference)
- compare to the CV table and write the significant statement .

Q

Mann Whitney

A
  • Rank all of the data of one big group
  • Add up all of the ranks for group 1 to get the value of R1
  • Repeat the same procedure to get R2 for group 2
  • Use the formula given
  • use smallest total value given for this
  • Use the critical value table to find if it is significant
  • write the significance statement

Q

Chi-Squared

A
  • collect results and perform analysis and get totals of columns and rows
  • numbers in the cell box are the ov
  • calculate the expected frequencies = (row total) x (column total) / total of all cells
  • apply the formula
    x^2 = the sum of (O-E)^2 / E
