spermatic cord rotates within the tunica vaginalis, compromises blood supply as tunica albuginae cannot expand
PC of testicular torsion
sudden onset unilateral pain!!, N+V, swollen and high lie of the testicle, negative prehn sign, negative cremasteric reflex
Mx of torsion
bilateral orchidopexy
RF of torsion
cryptorchidism, FHX, bell clapper
how does a sorted hydatid or morgagni present (embryological remnant-appendage of testis)
similar symptoms, blue dot sign
features of a hydrocele (fluid within the tunica vaginalis)
Painless, transilluminates.

trauma, infection, malignancy
Ix for hydrocele
US to look for underlying cause
which side does varicocele (dilation of pampiniform plexus) occur
L (drainage via plexus –> testicular vein –> left renal vein –> IVC)
