A grammatical structure that gives structural similarity to a paragraph to make a point
Parallelism/ Parallel Structure
A work that closely imitates the style of another work with the specific aim of comic effect and ridicule
Parody
An flexible term that describes the variety, the conventions, and the purposes of the major kinds of writing: Exposition, Argumentation, Description, Narration
Rhetorical modes
An adjective that describes words, phrases, or general tone that is overly scholarly, academic or bookish.
Pedantic
A question asked merely for effect and not expecting a reply
Rhetorical question
Involves bitter, caustic language that is meant to hurt or ridicule something or someone
Sarcasm
A work that makes fun of humans an our faults using sarcasm and humor while pretending to be serious
Satire
Less offensive word that softens the blow
