Initial test of choice for suspected ureterolithiasis
Non-contrast CT abdomen/pelvis
Unless the patient is pregnant! In this case, doppler ultrasound of kidneys, ureters, and bladder is the test of choice.

When do vs do not we obtain thyroid ultrasound in patients with goiter?
If the patient has a normal or high TSH, we obtain US
If the patient has a low TSH,we DO NOT. Instead, we will do a thyroid iodine uptake scan.
Is KUB ever indicated to rule out constipation?
Typically NO
A KUB has a much more substantial radiation exposure than a CXR (~1 mSv in comparison to 0.04 mSv)
What is the most sensitive test for pneumoperitoneum?
Upright PA CXR
Not an abdominal film at all!
