A

Depends on what component of motor unit affected

-> Nerve cell body: motor unit disease
→ motor neuron axon/neuromuscular junction: peripheral Neuropathy
→ muscle degeneration: myopathy

Criteria for distinguishing neurogenic versus myopathic disease

A

Myopathic: main symptom = muscle weakness/ wasting (atrophy) also leads to difficulty walking, lifting.

Neurogenic disease have: tendon reflexes lost, gradual weakness,fasiciculations (visual twitches)
