Blocking
A production term referring to coordinating actors’ movements with lines of dialogue
Forced perspective
A system of constructing and arranging buildings and objects on the set so they diminish in size dramatically from foreground to background, which creates an illusion of depth
Computer-generated imagery
Images that originate from computer graphics and technology, rather than photography.
Freeze Frame
Projecting a series of frames of film with the same image, which appears to stop the action
Typecasting
The practice of repeatedly casting actor in similar roles across different films
Method acting
A style of stage acting developed from the teachings of Constantin Stanislavsky, which trains actors to get into character through the use of emotional memory.
Character actors
An actor who’s career rests on playing minor or secondary quirky characters rather than leading roles

An uncredited actor, usually hired for crowd scenes

A short screen appearance by a celebrity, playing himself or herself

Drawing attention to the process of representation (including narrative and characterization) to break the theatrical illusion and elicit and distanced, intellectual response in the audience
