Id
Sexual and aggressive drive, physical needs, pleasure principle of satisfying urges and getting pleasure. Totally subconscious.
Superego
Develops around age six, sense of right and wrong, or morality. Conscious and preconscious.
Ego
Balances id, superego, and reality. Conscious and preconscious.
First psychosexual stage
Oral stage: 0-1.5 years. Erogenous zone is mouth, conflict that needs to be overcome is breastfeeding. If breastfeeding stops too early or continues too late, the child can develop long-term oral fixation.
Second psychosexual stage
Anal stage: 1.5-3 years. Erogenous zone is anus, conflict is potty training. Not resolving this conflict can lead to a child becoming anal-retentive or anal-expulsive.
Third psychosexual stage
Phallic stage: 3-6 years. Erogenous zone is penis for boys and clitoris for girls. Conflict that needs to be resolved is electra and oedipal conflicts. If these conflicts are not resolved then the development of superego will not happen.
Fourth psychosexual stage
Latency stage: 6-Puberty. Chillin, making same-sex friends.
Fifth psychosexual stage
Genital stage: Puberty-adulthood. Ezone is vagina or women, penis for men. Have to find a mate.
What are the positive symptoms of schizophrenia?
Delusions, hallucinations, disorganized and incoherent speech.
What are the negative symptoms of schizophrenia?
Flat affect, avolition (inability to pursue goals), alogia (brief, empty replies), mutism.
