Preoperational: 2-7. Lack conservation, egocentrism.
Third stage Piaget
Concrete operations: 7-11. Conservation, can manipulate mental representation.
Fourth stage Piaget
Formal operations: 11. Abstract thinking, hypothetical reasoning.
Problems with Piaget’s theory
Infants HAVE object permanence, develop theory of mind 4-5, some kids develop formal operations earlier or later, more gradual.
