His wife was much more powerful then him

Shows them as family oriented

Everyone seems like they are important

Queen is in the middle to show power

Goya wanted to show their wealth

Goya included himself with a large canvas in front

Goya made himself less important in the painting

Didn’t flatter the faces at all

Woman behind the princess doesn’t have a face yet because the prince didn’t pick a wife yet

Doesn’t look like a formal royal portrait

Spanish civilians stoop up and tried to get the French out

The french lashed out and killed the Spanish civilians

Civilians killed on the top of a hill as an example

Isn’t a fair and equal fight

You feel bad for the spanish people since they have no wea[pns

The darkness verses the light

Doesn’t look peaceful

The figure in the middle reminds you of christ and being sacrificed

Can see a churh far in the background
