Isoniazid: adverse reactions
Higher doses of INH cause adverse reactions Nausea/vomiting Epigastric distress Fever Skin eruptions Hematologic changes Jaundice Hypersensitivity
Isoniazid: contradictions
Contradicted in clients with a history of hypersensitivity to the drug. Used in caution during pregnancy ( category C) and in clients with hepatic renal impairment

Ritonavir: adverse effects
Headache , fever , chills , rash , numbness/tingling in circumoral area or peripherally or both. Hepatoxic and nephrotoxic suppresses bone marrow.
Ritonavir: drug interactions
Antifungals , clarithromycin , sidenafil , anticoagulants , opioid analgesics , anticonvulesant , antiparasetic , interleukins , fentanyl , oral contraceptives , and rifampin.
Acyclovir: uses
To treat HSV-1, causes oral , ocular or facial infection
HSV-2 , which causes genital infection
Acyclovir: nursing considerations
Avoid sexual contact until lesions are gone , report difficulty urinating , rash
Nyastatin: client education
Oral solution shake well , swish in mouth for as long as tolerated , gargle then spit out. Evaluate chart response and confirm client understands instructions.
Remove dentures and soak dentures in the medication
Metronidazole : drug interactions

Common adverse reaction of antifungals
Systemic administration
Headache , rash , anorexia , malaise , abdominal and joint or muscle pain , nausea/vomiting , diarrhea
Common adverse reactions of antifungals
Topical administration:
Site irritation , burning , crusting and drainage
Amphotericin B : adverse reactions
Weakness , vision changes , painful urination , fever , chills , nausea , nephrotoxicity
Decreased urine output
Quinine : adverse reactions
Nausea/vomiting , cinchoism , skin rash , visual disturbances
Cinchoism manifestations
Tinnitus , dizziness , headache , GI disturbances , visual disturbances , usually appear when dosage is reduced
Risk factors of TB
Latent , active and extra pulmonary
Organs that can be affected include the liver , bones , spleen and adrenal glands
MMR vaccine: nursing considerations
Shouldn’t be given to pregnant women or clients who have had an allergic reaction to gelatin , neomycin , or previous dose of one of the vaccines
Vaccines : general contradictions
Fever , redness , pain , localized swelling at the injection site. Hypersensitivity to prior vaccines
