- Pyoderma under adhesive tape.

- Peripheral Venous catherisation. > Indication. ~Continuous access to peripheral circulation. ~ Multiple blood samples. - Central Venous catheterisation. > Indication: intensive care procedures. ~ Total parenteral nutrition. ~ Monitoring CVP.

Mention the procedure of IV drug application.
A
- Restrain the animal.
- Remove the fur coat.
- Disinfect the skin.
- distend the vein by moderate occlusion.
- Stabilize the leg + Vein.
- Insert the needle- bevel facing up, 15- 30º angle, 1/2- 1 cm deep.
- Stabilise the needle.
- Aspirate to make sure IV placement.
- Remove occlusion.
- inject drug at moderate rate + watch for signs of paravenous application.
- Check needle placement with repeated blood aspiration.
- Aspirate blood before pulling out needle to prevent leakage of iiritative drugs to paravenous tissue.
- Apply direct p. at insertion site.
- Remove needle.
