1) Restoration and reconciliation of the believer
2) To keep sin from spreading to others
3) To protect the purity of the church and the honor of Christ
How to carry out church discipline
1) Knowledge of sin kept to smalles group possible
2) Disciplinary measures should increase in strength until there is a solution.
Church officer
someone who has been publically recognized as having the right and responsibility to perform certain functions for the benefit of the whole church.
