What was the Enlightenment?
A period of time in which thinkers and writers (mostly in London and Paris) believed they were more Enlightened (smarter) than their compatriots (peers), and set out to enlighten them in the 1700s (1650)
Why did most of the Enlightenment happen in London and Paris?
They were the two largest cities in Europe, and world at the time, therefore there were lots of people. As a result, the Enlightenment thinkers couldn’t be hunted down as easily.
