Q

States of Matter - How they are different from one another

A

-Solid, liquid and gas. Gas molecules are well spread out and move quickly, it has no defined shape. Liquids are closer together and moes slower, it can change shape depending on its container but it can’t expand and get bigger naturally. Solid molecules are tightly packed together, it can’t change shape without being forced to.

Q

Changes in States - explain how the movement of the particles change

A
  • When something is being heated up the molecules in it are moving further and further away from each other, they are also getting quicker. When something is being cooled down the molecules start to get closer and closer together, they are also becoming slower and slower.
