Imperialism is the takeover of a nation to dominate its government, trade, and culture.
What is nationalism?
Nationalism is the competing with other nations to prove your country’s greatness.
What is the White Man’s Burden?
The White Man’s Burden is the belief that Europe’s and America’s had a duty to civilize other parts of the world and make them like them.
What is apartheid?
Apartheid lasted in 1948-1994. It is when the whites and blacks separated with the whites taking power, mistreating blacks, and making laws that did so.
What is genocide?
Genocide is the mass murder of a particular group of people.
What is ethnocentrism?
Ethnocentrism is the belief that one’s culture is superior to others, and judging other cultures according to your cultural standards.
What is the rite of passage?
The rite of passage is the special ceremony that marks entering a new stage of life, such as adulthood
What is a developed nation?
A developed nation is a high standard of living, and economies based on a combination of industry, service, and agriculture.
What is a developing nation?
A developing nation is a lower standard of living, and economies based on mostly agriculture.
