Under section 1(1) of the Terrorism Act 2000, what is the interpretation of Terrorism?
Terrorism means the use of or threat of that action:
Designed to influence the government or international governmental organisation or to intimidate the public or a section of the public
AND
is made for the purpose of advancing a political , religious, racial or ideological cause
Section 1(2) Terrorism Act 2000
Terrorism means the use or threat of action which:
A) involves serious violence against a person
B) involves serious damage to property
C)endangers a persons life , other than that of the person committing the action
D) Creates a serious risk to the health and safety of the public or a section of the public or
E) is designed seriously to interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system
Under section 40 Terrorism act 2000, a terrorist is someone who:
Is or has been
CONCERNED IN THE COMMISSION, PREPARATION OR INSTIGATION OF ACTS OF TERRORISM

Possessing Articles connected with an “act of terrorism”
A person commits an offence if he possesses an article in circumstances which give rise to a reasonable suspicion that his possession is for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism

58(1) A person commits an offence if he:
a)collects or makes a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism or
b)possesses a document or record containing information of that kind
58(2) ‘Record’ includes a photographic or electronic record

A person commits an offence if he:
a) Makes or has in his possession a radioactive device or
b) Has in his possession radioactive material

A constable may stop and search any person whom he reasonably suspects to be a terrorist in order to discover whether he has in his possession anything which may constitute evidence that he is a terrorist
