How is religious extremism a cause of terrorism
This is when people commit terrorist attacks in the name of the religion. They are referred to as religious extremists. This means they manipulate or exaggerate what they believe their religion to be preaching. This is because some groups as religion to justify violence.
The example of religious extremism
Isis believe they’re acting in the name of Islam however every act they carry out goes against what islam preaches.
How does discrimination cause terrorism
This is when a group or attack or target a specific group in society due to their characteristics or belief groups like LGBTQ or religious groups or race or ethnicity groups, they are targets of their hatred and take violent action which is called violent extremism.
The example of discrimination
17th of July 2015, Dylann Roof entered an African Methodist church. As the people began to pray, he opened fire and killed nine African Americans. Roof claimed “blacks were taking over the world.”
Explain how nationalism causes terrorism
Nationalism cause terrorism as it is a strong belief and support for a particular group or country it comes in many forms, negative and positive.

On the 22nd of July 2011, Anders Brevik placed a bomb inside a van which was outside the government killed eight and injured 208 people. He did this to scare the governments youth wing to change the immigration policy.
Explain how financial benefits is a cause of terrorism
This means that terrorist groups/organisations use violence and methods such as kidnapping extortion, in order to raise the funds through demanding ransoms, for further military attacks.

Boko Haram kidnapped 111 School girls and demanded a ransom for the girls safe return. February 2018 in Nigeria.

Explain how poor health is a consequence of terrorism
Terrorism can impact victims physiological and mental health it can have a mental impact such as PTSD and on their physiological health, such as injuries and broken bones
Example for poor health
The Manchester arena bombing in 2017 had 22 fatalities and over 800 injuries. These individuals were also reported they suffered from PTSD afterwards
Explain how poverty is a consequence from terrorism
Poverty is an economic consequence certain attacks like airstrikes can have a huge impact that could ruin lives and destroy homes which leads to people then having to flee to neighbouring countries to be safe.

In Nigeria 61% of the population is in poverty due to terrorist attacks.
How is security measures increase an impact
Countries after terrorist attack may need to increase security, this could be places that attacks happen most commonly for example airports: this puts pressure on the government to take effective action so The government may create many security procedures such as a body scan screening

In July 2017 there was an outrage when Theresa May announced that the U.K.’s budget for the Home Office antiterrorism unit was to be cut by 32 million pounds
How was armed conflict an impact from terrorism
This means that terrorist related to conflict has spread from one country where it started, to neighbouring countries and causing further instability. This may lead to countries having to set up a defence in order to protect themselves and take action if needed.

For example, Isis have spread their operations from Syria to northern Iraq and have taken the key city of Mosul
How is displacement and impact from terrorism
This means that the terrorist related conflict has forced people to flee their own homes/countries to neighbouring countries to escape violence and human rights abuses such as lack of education

For example, 3 million people have fled to Syria to Turkey, to escape conflict with Isis. A further 1,000,000 to Lebanon
